Anchor Boys' Funday

Eight Anchor Boys sections took part in our annual fun afternoon. They came from the city centre and as far afield as Kintore to meet and have fun!

The boys played "run around" games, team games, relay races as well as giant games like Snakes and Ladders and Jenga. They also had fun on a Sponge Bob bouncy castle. The giant games and bouncy castle came from Little Bouncers. We finished the afternoon with magician Garry Seagraves, who provided a fantastic show to finish off a fab 2 hours of fun!

Events for Anchor Boys

  • Anchor Boy Fun Afternoon  held at BBHQ Saturday 12th February 2011

This was  an afternoon of fun for companies throughout the Battalion.  Ten companies responded and although one pulled out the night before (due to ill health of the officer) the others who turned up had a great time.

On the day 49 Anchor Boys mixed together so it wasn't company v company.  They took part in various activities including the Parachute, Story Game/Singing and Run a Round Games.  After the activities (phew the boys were hot and tired) they went back to their individual companies for a snack before all joining together to watch the Magician.  The boys loved his act and he involved boys throughout.

Thanks to all those who turned up and the officers who got stuck in and helped.  The boys fair enjoyed their afternoon and are now looking forward to the William Smith Gathering in May when another chance to let off steam, meet up with new friends and have loads of fun awaits.

  • William Smith Gathering scheduled for 7th May 2011
